TPPF statement on Michigan Governor Snyder’s support of Clean Power Plan

Texas Public Policy Foundation’s Fueling Freedom Project Director Doug Domenech issued the following statement on Michigan Governor Rick Snyder’s decision to support Environmental Protection Agency’s flawed Clean Power Plan. TPPF joined a coalition, along with 32 other groups, stating, “the best approach is for states to reject state plans until the courts decide whether Obama even has the authority to impose his national energy takeover.”

TPPF releases paper on civil asset forfeiture reform

The Texas Public Policy Foundation’s Center for Effective Justice today released a paper by Center Deputy Director Derek Cohen on the need to reform the practice of civil asset forfeiture. The paper, Without Due Process of Law: The Case for Civil Asset Forfeiture Reform, enumerates reforms states may implement to ensure criminals are held accountable for breaking the law while protecting the property rights of innocents.
