TPPF statement on SAISD’s adoption of minimum wage increase

Texas Public Policy Foundation Director of the Center for Local Governance James Quintero and Economist Dr. Vance Ginn issued the following statements on the San Antonio Independent School District Board’s approval of a minimum wage increase for all non-exempt, permanent, full-time employees for the 2016-17 school year. The increase in the hourly rate from $10 to $12 is tantamount to a 20 percent pay raise and comes at a difficult time for the district’s finances.

Both Texas U.S. Senators, 20 Texas Congressmen file Amicus Brief in TPPF lawsuit against BLM

The Texas Public Policy Foundation (TPPF) issued the following statement from the Honorable Robert Henneke, general counsel and director of TPPF’s Center for the American Future, on the amicus curiae brief filed by U.S. Representative Mac Thornberry, 20 other Texas U.S. Congressmen, and U.S. Senators John Cornyn and Ted Cruz in support of the plaintiffs in Aderholt, et al. v. Bureau of Land Management, et. al. TPPF’s Center for the American Future is representing individual property owners, the counties of Wichita, Clay, and Wilbarger, and the Clay County Sheriff in the lawsuit challenging the Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) unconstitutional and arbitrary seizure of thousands of acres of private property along the Red River in Texas.
