AUSTIN – The Texas Public Policy Foundation’s (TPPF) Center for Tenth Amendment Action Director Dr. Tom Lindsay will testify before the House Select Committee on State & Federal Power & Responsibility TOMORROW, Thursday, March 12, 2015 at 10:30 CDT or upon final adjournment.  Dr. Lindsay will testify on House Joint Resolutions 78 and 79, which would call for an Article V Convention for the purpose of proposing a balanced budget amendment.

“The federal government has amassed so much debt that not only this generation, but also the next, will be paying for it—crippling economic mobility and prosperity generally,” said Lindsay. “It is high time to address this crisis, and the Constitution provides a remedy. Under the Constitution, states are empowered to call for Constitutional Convention to consider amendments. An amendment to impose fiscal discipline on our profligate federal government is essential to preserving economic opportunity for our children and grandchildren.”
