AUSTIN – The Texas Supreme Court is expected to rule on the school finance trial in the spring of 2016. To examine opportunities for reform this litigation presents, the Texas Public Policy Foundation’s Center for Education Freedom will host the panel “School Finance: After 30 Years of Litigation, How Can Texas Restructure Education to Benefit Students?” at the 14th Annual Policy Orientation for the Texas Legislature on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at 2:00 pm CST at the Hilton Austin Hotel in Salon J.

“Texans have struggled with how to fix school finance for over three decades and may now have a once in a lifetime opportunity to do what is best for kids, not just institutions,” said the Honorable Kent Grusendorf, senior fellow and director of the Center for Education Freedom at the Texas Public Policy Foundation. “We look forward to a lively and timely discussion in anticipation of a Supreme Court ruling next spring.”
