Following the president’s disappointing border visit, TPPF’s Mayra Flores released the following statement:
“President Biden’s border visit will be meaningless unless he reverses course on his policies that are driving this crisis. Spending a few hours taking pictures on a layover and then doubling down on a failed approach is not how you show the American people border security is a priority to your administration. We need real leadership.
“Now the president must work with Republicans to address the problems that are affecting communities along the southern border. The United States can have a secure border, enforce the rule of law, and improve our legal immigration system in a way that will make our country stronger if the president is willing to work with the new Congress. And most importantly, he must encourage cooperation between Mexico and the United States to disrupt the flow of migrants and target criminal organizations that are profiting from this crisis.”
