AUSTIN – The Texas Public Policy Foundation’s Center for Effective Justice Policy Analyst Derek Cohen will speak at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) panel titled Asset Forfeiture: The Sheriff of Nottingham at your Doorstep today, Thursday, February 26, 2015 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland, at 2:10 p.m. EST.  The panel will also include Darpana Sheth with the Institute for Justice and will be moderated by Pat Nolan of the American Conservative Union.

“Forfeiture reform, both federal and state, has enjoyed renewed interest in recent months,” said Cohen. “With several bills pending in Congress and countless others having been filed in the state capitols, it’s patently evident that individuals demand accountability of government agencies commensurate with that which the government demands of them. I personally look forward to a casual conversation with Darpana and Pat, hearing more about the phenomenal work being done by the Institute for Justice, and discussing the topic with CPAC attendees.”
