AUSTIN, Texas – The Texas Public Policy Foundation today released the agenda for the 78th Legislature Policy Orientation.

Headlining the multi-day event will be the state’s top elected officials, including Gov. Rick Perry, Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst, Attorney General Greg Abbott, House Speaker Tom Craddick, Texas Supreme Court Chief Justice Thomas R. Phillips and key commissioners, as well as bi-partisan panels of legislators and experts, including former US Secretary of Education Bill Bennett.

The 78th Legislature Policy Orientation will be held over four days, Jan. 29 and 30 and Feb. 3 and 4, and will examine the most important issues of the year – state taxes and spending, border affairs, water, school finance, K-12 and higher education, insurance, transportation, health care and tort reform.

“This is an exciting event for all Texans, as experts and legislators representing a broad spectrum of ideas come together to share their perspectives on our most pressing issues,” said TPPF President Brooke Leslie Rollins. “Never before has Texas seen an event like this, which brings together the brightest policy minds from across the nation and our key state leaders to work to solve the challenges facing Texas.”

To be held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Austin, Texas, individuals can learn more about registering for the Orientation at the Foundation’s website.
