Today, the Texas Public Policy Foundation is pleased to announce David Balat as the director of the Foundation’s new national healthcare initiative, Right on Healthcare.

“David has established himself as a leading healthcare expert which has enabled him to serve as a healthcare advisor for members of Congress and the State of Texas State House of Representatives,” said TPPF’s Executive Director Kevin Roberts. “Following the recent court ruling which found Obamacare to be unconstitutional, David is the right person to help TPPF deliver state-based solutions to problems within our healthcare system.”

Prior to joining TPPF, Balat worked within the healthcare industry for more than 20 years and possesses expertise in healthcare finance and executive management experience. David has focused his career on education and advocacy in an effort to simplify coverage that is too expensive, complicated, and untrustworthy.

“The fundamental building block in healthcare is the Physician/Patient relationship which must be restored without interference from third parties,” said Balat. “I am honored to join the Texas Public Policy Foundation’s fight to remove excessive government involvement to ensure all Texans and Americans are able to access the best healthcare possible for their individual needs.”

David serves as the Chairman of the Board for Helping a Hero, a charity dedicated to building specially adapted housing for disabled veterans. David also serves as a board member for a non-profit focused on educating legislators and the community about important matters pertaining to healthcare freedom. A first generation American and the first in his family to graduate from college, David received his B.S. from the University of Houston and a joint MBA/MHA from the University of Houston – Clear Lake. David and his wife Lauren have two children.
