TPPF files motion for summary judgment in Bone Cave Harvestman lawsuit

The Texas Public Policy Foundation on Friday afternoon filed a motion for summary judgment in the pending lawsuit seeking to delist the Bone Cave Harvestman from the Endangered Species Act. TPPF’s Center for the American Future represents Williamson County resident John Yearwood and Williamson County, Texas in the lawsuit, which challenges the authority of the federal government to use the Interstate Commerce Clause to regulate non-commercial interactions with the Bone Cave Harvestman arachnid, which only exists in two central Texas counties, is not bought nor traded in interstate commerce, and does not otherwise affect interstate commerce.

TPPF Releases Report Examining Department of Energy’s Rule on Grid Resiliency

Today, the Texas Public Policy Foundation’s Center for Economic Freedom released Overview of the Department of Energy’s Proposed Grid Resiliency Pricing Rule by Bill Peacock. The paper provides an overview of the reliability challenges of the U.S. electric grid, the flaws of the DOE’s proposed rule, and the path forward for improving the reliability and security of America’s electric grid.

TPPF Statement on Graham-Cassidy

As the United States Senate considers the fate of the Graham-Cassidy healthcare reform measure, it is incumbent upon our leaders to stay the course and fully debate the legislation. The current discussions have the elements necessary to form the path to consensus, and there remains the possibility of a grand bargain to get both the reforms those seeking full repeal of Obamacare desire and resolution for the concerns of those worried about the reduction in Medicaid expansion.
