Texas ranks 2nd in Economic Freedom North American index

Texas continues to be a leader in economic growth, job creation, and migration from other states. Texas’ high ranking reflects an environment conducive for individuals to flourish. While these stats indicate a supportive foundation for growth, improvements are necessary to sustain this success by continuing to pass conservative budgets, eliminating property taxes, and providing more opportunities for workers to prosper.

TPPF commends Speaker Ryan’s call for criminal justice reform

We wish to thank Speaker Ryan for his commitment to common-sense, conservative reforms, including criminal justice reform, which he mentioned on Thursday. The goal of such reform is to improve public safety, rebuild our communities, and help heal broken lives. All of these can be achieved, and as the Speaker noted, there is broad, bipartisan support for this reform. We look forward to working with the Speaker and the House Judiciary Committee as it crafts legislation to make our criminal justice system more responsible, more responsive – and more restorative.

TPPF Applauds USFWS Inclusion of State Input in Endangered Species Assessments

The new U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service policy to include representatives from state governments in endangered species species status assessments is a great step forward in respecting federalism and the role of the states in conservation. States are in the best position to have the most current information about a species within their jurisdiction, and this inclusion will give U.S. Fish and Wildlife better access to the best, most currently available science. I applaud Secretary Zinke’s willingness to seek the input and advice of states before imposing more endangered species regulations.
