In June 2021, the Biden administration announced it would change how it enforces the Gun Control Act of 1968. This enforcement policy is the latest of the administration’s many attempts to twist the meaning of old statutes to impose its preferred regulatory agenda.

This policy has resulted, by some estimates, in a five-fold increase in the number of firearm dealers having their licenses to sell firearms revoked—even if they never sold a gun to someone who was not legally allowed to purchase one.

The new policy is simply unlawful under the very statute that it purports to enforce. That is why the owner of Central Texas Gun Works, Michael Cargill, has joined together with the Texas Public Policy Foundation to challenge the new policy in court.
